Why Your Second Visit Matters

Completing your first plasma donation is something to feel proud of. But your second visit is what helps make that first donation count.

By stepping through our doors, you are choosing to support patients who rely on plasma-derived therapies to treat rare diseases and survive. But your impact is not complete with just one visit. Your first plasma donation cannot be used until you complete another successful donation on your second visit.

Your first visit starts the journey, and your second visit helps complete it. Together, those two donations help make your plasma useful and accessible for the patients who need it.

Becoming a Qualified Plasma Donor

To ensure the highest standards of patient safety, new donors must complete two successful visits within six months to become fully qualified.

Under FDA requalification requirements, your initial plasma donation is safely held and cannot enter manufacturing right away. It is only released after a second donation confirms negative viral-marker testing across two separate time points. Once both screenings are successfully completed and cleared, your donation moves forward to help create life-saving therapies!

What to Expect During Your Second Visit

Your second plasma donation is faster and much easier to fit into your week. There is no need to schedule ahead. Find your nearest center, check its hours, and walk in for your next eligible donation.

The first visit took about 2 hours because our team needed time to complete your registration, health screening, and wellness exams. After that, the process moves much faster. Most return visits take about 60 to 90 minutes

Six Ways to Prepare for Your Second Donation

A few simple steps can help support a smoother visit and reduce the chance of a temporary deferral.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your visit.

Eat a Healthy, Low-fat Meal

Have a full meal with protein and iron, ideally at least two hours before donating. Avoid arriving on an empty stomach.

Avoid Alcohol

Alcohol can contribute to dehydration, so avoid it on the day before your donation.

Avoid Nicotine Before Your Visit

Olgam Life recommends avoiding nicotine for at least two hours before donating.

Get A Full Night Of Sleep.

Being well rested can help you feel better prepared for the screening and donation.

Check Your Return Eligibility

Confirm the earliest day you can return with the center team.

How to Avoid an Unsuccessful Second Visit

A little preparation can help prevent delays during your second visit. Every donor must pass a health screening before donating, and certain issues may lead to a temporary deferral.

  • Dehydration, skipping a meal, or not getting enough sleep can affect how you feel and may influence your vital signs.

  • A recent illness, tattoo, piercing, serious injury, or ongoing recovery may also affect your eligibility.

  • High or low blood pressure, pulse, or temperature could also mean you need to wait before donating.

Before leaving home, make sure you feel healthy and well fed. If you are unsure whether you are eligible to return, feel free to contact your Olgam Life center before your visit.

How Does Compensation Work?

First-time donors receive an initial token of appreciation loaded directly onto an Olgam Life prepaid debit card after a successful donation. In New York, that first payout is $60. In Florida, it is $80.

Donors who continue giving week after week can also build meaningful monthly earnings. Consistent donors can receive up to $500 per month in New York and up to $770 per month in Florida.

Referral Bonuses

Through our Referral Program, you can receive a $50 referral bonus when you invite friends to join our donor community.

To ensure your referral bonus is successfully credited, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Two-Visit Requirement: Your referred friend must complete both of their initial, successful plasma donations.

  • New Donors Only: The referral bonus applies when inviting first-time donors to Olgam Life.

  • Verification: Make sure your friend mentions your full name or donor ID during their initial sign-up process.

  • Payout: Your referral bonus is automatically loaded to your card on your next successful donation visit after your referred friend completes their second donation!

Take The Next Step

Coming back for your second donation is the ultimate difference maker! That second visit is what transforms your initial donation into a confirmed, usable, life-saving reality for patients in need around the world.
